Rhinoplasty is a common procedure and serious complications are rare, however as with all operations there can be certain risks. These may be:
– An injury or holes in the septum
– Skin issues which can include the breakdown of skin tissue
– Infection, although preventative antibiotics is sometimes given after surgery to decrease this risk.
– Swelling inside the nose which may create a serious nasal blockage
– Complications associated with anesthesia.
– Loss of sense of smell
